This department gives only undergraduate education. The first year is preparatory year, in which Turkish and English are taught extensively.

The aim of the department is to give a multidimensional and balanced education on social phenomena, political organizations and the governance of a country. The department encourages students to do researches on Caucasus, Middle Asia, the European Union, economy, democratization, human rights, globalization and urbanization in addition to studying their regular courses on political science.

Students’ regular courses are consolidated by lectures from numerous native and foreign statesmen. Students are given the opportunity to get work experience in Azerbaijan or abroad from the third year of their education onwards.
